Help Us Make A Difference: Haiti Relief

On January 12, a series of earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 6.5 to 7.3 devastated Haiti, leading to hundreds of thousands of deaths and wreaking havoc in an already-impoverished nation.

SheBlogs, based in South Florida, would like to offer our support in raising funds for the American Red Cross’s Haiti Relief and Development Fund, which will support emergency relief and recovery efforts to help those people affected by the earthquakes in Haiti – including deploying personnel, sending relief supplies, and providing financial resources.

While we have made our own donation, we recognize the need to do more. That is why, between now and February 12, 2010, SheBlogs will be donating 100% of our revenue to the American Red Cross’s Haiti Relief and Development Fund.

Help Us Make A Difference

We are offering PR pros the following options to help the SheBlogs Community make a difference in the disaster relief efforts:

Place a company directory listing, contest, news release, or other distribution with SheBlogs.org – and we will donate all monies collected to this fund.
Donate the equivalent value of any of these distributions to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund, and forward us your donation receipt for a free distribution with our service.

Our bloggers can make a difference. Currently, our more than 1800 bloggers have a collective monthly reach of more than 20 million visitors. Text message donations are estimated to be more than $8 million, according to DailyFinance.com. If we as a community come together to blog about the tragedy in Haiti, and call on our readers to donate $1 each, we can more than double that fundraising effort. If we call on our readers to donate $10, we have the potential to raise $200 million for disaster relief efforts.
