The entertainment industry can be a cold, hollow place, where women are often objectified and fall into passive roles. Suzanne Toro, manager of international sensation The Black Eyed Peas, stands strong against these detriments, leading by her own example as a true advocate of women’s empowerment.
Positioned as COO of Apl.de.ap’s global music label Jeepney Music, Suzanne is a profile in strength and creativity, managing and driving initiatives in label development while spearheading endeavors of the Apl Foundation in giving back to those who are underserved and underpowered. Through partnerships with Give2Asia and the Ayala Foundation, her team provides developing countries with sustainable business models through music.
Suzanne will be joining SheBlogs.org for a virtual press conference with our blogging community on Thursday, October 8, from 9 – 10 pm ET! She will be talking about her challenges being a female executive in the entertainment industry, her work with the Apl Foundation, and sharing her advice for women who are interested in working in the entertainment industry! Best of all – you can share your conversation with Suzanne with your readers! We’ve had the chance to interview her, and we’re sharing our Q&A format interview here. Feel free to use any of this content as well (please attribute to SheBlogs.org).
We will be choosing five lucky bloggers to kick off the Twitter conversation with pre-selected questions that we’ll send to Suzanne in advance of the event.
To RSVP for this event, please leave a comment below with your first name and Twitter ID. To have your question considered for one of the first five answered by Suzanne – please submit it below, in 140 characters or less, with your Twitter handle.
We look forward to working with you all on this exciting opportunity! If you have any questions, please submit them to info@sheblogs.org.
